Bandeau's, kahki's, and kicks.

This may be my last post.. my fashion exploration has come to a public end, and I think I have found my style niche. If you ever want help shopping for a specific item, please let me know, I still like helping people spend their money on just the righ thing for them. But lets be real, how much of who we are is defined by our clothing, and how much is really just our attitude towards life? Be creative, create, love, and live with integrity.

Hopefully this blog has helped you realize that you don't need a lot to be creative, not really anything. Find what you have laying around, whether it's old khaki's, a friends bandeau, or some kicks...and make them you, fun, and interesting. Intentionality is all it takes. You're beautiful, now go!

Peace out! (Literally).

That's A Wrap, folks!

YO! Sorry I haven't blogged lately, I'm a poor student enveloped in my studies, but I just wanted to fill you in on some things I have been looking at to re-use and spice up your already fabulous clothes :) I'm talking about head-wraps, headbands, and turbans!

Here are some examples:

I know I just have so many scarves from over the years, and can't seem to find enough outfits to wear them with, but maybe wrapping them into turbans and headbands can reinvent the scarf, and put them back in my wardrobe in an intersting way!

It's kind of a boho look, but i'd say anyone can give it a shot if they want to find a new way to wear a scarf :) with some sweet shades, simple tank/t/and skirt or leggins and oversized sweater :) the combinations are all up to your imagination.

So, the best way to learn anything quick today is.. youtube tutorials! Below is a picture tutorial, and a video tutorial on a few ways to tie scarves into turbans.

Pretty simple, eh? I found that thinner or silk scarves work best, especially for starting out. Just experiment, add a broach, try it on an angle, maybe you'll figure out a new cool way to tie a scarf :) and if you do, let me know!

also, I just wanted to include the picture below cause I find it rediculously crazy. 49$? For a turban wig? Like, seriously? back THEN? maybe it's a joke... either way this chick has seriouse lips. woah.
thanks for tuning in :)

Load Em Up! (bracelets)

Alright, this is a bit of a summer trend gone by, but I’m still digging it and I have loads of pictures of beautifully decorated wrists! So why not post em, I say. Here we go..

Chain, weave, leather, and cloth. The basics.

Bangles and beads, another sweet approach.

Why not keep your carnival/caberay bracelet on a little longer? Wearing something with a story just makes it seem more significant.

I don’t know what these are called, but those tribal looking woven friendship bracelets are sweet!! And you can make em yourself, just search "friendship bracelet" on google.

Don’t worry about being too big or too bold! Stand out, it's good.

Here’s some more examples, some more for guys too.

Hopefully this gave you some accessorization inspiration!

Wrist Recap:
1- The more the marrier (or, the bolder and brighter the better!)
2- go for leather/beaded/woven/meatal/or bangles
3- combine functional (watch) with sentemental.

Top Five Favorite Fall Trends

Have you noticed a change in the leaves? Well, here in Regina, signs of fall are already showing. But lets forget about the weather focus on the best part of fall: fashion! I have a list of a few fall essentials to start you off with your fall shopping (for girls):

1) Mid-High Waisted Jeans: from shorts to pants, have you given in yet? Say goodbye to low-rise, and find a comfy pair of mid to high waisted jeans. They're an easy way to fashion-up an outfit, just tuck-in a shirt or wear a loose cropped top. Also, no more worrying about the bum-crack!

2) Warm Leather Jacket: Black, brown, or camel, they can be pretty handy in the winter, and go with basically any outfit.
(forever21)

3) Coloured Pants: Blue, maroon, red.. take a look around for some new colours of pants that you could make work with your outfits. Velvet is the "high fashion" trend, but don't think that's necessarily a must. Have fun with it!

4) The Over sized Sweater: Back to the 80's again! This is a buy you wont regret; who doesn't want to be confident in their comfies? And if your looking for something even more different, try a knitted sweater.

5) Burgundy: If there is one colour I would recommend you add to your wardrobe for this fall/winder, it is burgundy. It is popping up everywhere: in pants, sweaters, scarves, shoes, you name it. Try it out :)

Other trends to look into: the off-the shoulder shirt, flare jeans (too soon in my mind), full length skirt or maxi skirt, or sued boots/shoes.

Style Close-Up: Braydon Jordheim

for today's style close up we are featuring the one and only, mr. ensemble himself..
BRAYDON JORDHEIM!!
teacher's assistant, movie junky, and outfit extraordinaire.

Braydon Jordheim
Location: Pense/Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada)
Favorite Place to Shop: W.O.T. (world of trout), and Coda.
Favorite Article of Clothing: Plaid Shirts
Fashion Motto: “Work with what you got”

You shouldn't be ashamed of your body-type..."I'm thin, but not afraid to show it", he says. Anyone can find reasons for whats wrong with them, but what about highlighting your features? This confidence and understanding of body type is key to Braydon's style.

For our downtown photoshoot I asked Braydon to choose his four favourite outfits to wear in different parts of the cityt. We started shooting at the Balfour apartments, with Braydon in his latest summer look.

He's wearing Levi cut-offs, and a forever21 tank, and a Le Chateau Necklace.

Braydon's next look is fresh; inspired by childhood and fun.

His sweater is from the Disney store, he's wearing Levi Skinnies, and Vans shoes. The beanie is from World of Trout.

Being 6'3, Braydon didn't always find it easy to get pants to fit his slim bod. But after he tried on his first pair of Levi jeans, he swore he'd never go back. Levi's are "the way, the truth, and the light for tall people", says Braydon.

If in need of a name, this next outfit could be called "Funky-retro-gentleman". It's an outfit he's rocks at banquets and fancy parties.

"I'm 6'3 and all legs, so the bow tie helps my shorter torso feel longer.. work with what you got! Learn what works with your body".

The bow tie is from Le Chateau, it's a forever21 vest, Calvin Klein dress pants, Supra Hightops (shoes), glasses from H&M, and the white shirt is from his dad.

"The lenses aren't real, but why not rock them, like any other accessory?"

This look features one of Braydon's favourites: plaid. He's wearing a blue notes plaid shirt, a T from urban outfitters, Levi jeans (of course), and vans. The umbrella was the result of a rainy day in Wascasoo.

"I find with my style that I like color, but if I want to seem more classy I get simpler and darker colored."

"If [what you're wearing] doesn't make you feel like you're hot, why wear it? Clothes are supposed to make you feel good about yourself. It may take a while for you to figure out your style, but so did math ;)".

Braydon's found a way to balance fashion, fun, and freedom in his daily attire. Thanks for giving us a peak into your fashion life Bray!

Till next time...
